Growing Up Jersey
Growing up in suburban New Jersey with 2 working parents, I didn’t get a lot of firearms experience. Sure, when I was old enough, my father took me for my hunting license and that was the first and last time I handled a shotgun until I went in to the Navy. While in the Navy I spent 2 weeks with The Marines for tactical infantry training and we fired m16s, Mossberg 500s and I believe the handguns were a Beretta model.
Fast Forward to My Late Forties
Right around the end of 2015 I developed an interest in firearms, handguns in particular. I had no idea what I was looking for or even how to go and purchase one. Sure, There is a ton of information on the Internet but I found it difficult to navigate and confusing. So basically I had to wing it. I made some wrong, silly and sometimes dumb decisions. To be honest with you, I am still figuring it out.
I am primarily focused on handguns right now, but will be getting into long guns in the future.
Five Charlie is Here For You and Me.
Five Charlie is basically going to be a blog site chronicling my foray into the Firearms Industry. I am going blog about my experiences and lessons learned. I am going to do gear reviews and maybe make some recommendations. I am going to go to training classes and write about my experiences.
I like to shoot competitively and I will be blogging about the shooting sports. (The name of this website is actually derived from one of the competitions I shoot).
So that is it in a nutshell. I truly hope you enjoy the site and gain something useful from it.
